Community Action Program grant files, 1965-1974.

Files documenting grants to community action programs throughout the state, mainly run by county, multi-county, and Native American reservation agencies. The majority of the grants were used for senior citizen centers, housing, economic development, community improvement and beautification (Nelson Amendment), legal assistance, emergency food and medical, Head Start, VISTA, and Neighborhood Youth Corps. Included in the files are project proposals, budget and financial data, correspondence, minutes, annual reports, and various related reports, publications, and newspaper clippings.
